Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center serves as the comprehensive medical facility for the South Metro area, combining the welcoming atmosphere of a community hospital with the expertise and services of a larger medical institution. Our specialties include stroke care, chest pain management, minimally invasive and robotic surgeries, cancer treatment, as well as orthopedic and total joint surgeries. Additionally, we offer a birth center and a breast health center.

Responsibilities

The RN Staff Nurse is accountable for patient care within a designated department or unit and collaborates as a member of the healthcare team under the guidance of the clinical manager or their designee. This role involves assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards for our health system, including protocols for patient assessment and transfer.

QualificationsEducation:

As mandated by licensure requirements. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a degree in progress is strongly preferred. A BSN may be necessary for certain roles; however, experienced RNs without a BSN may be considered based on clinical experience with the approval of the site Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Experience:

A minimum of one year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program in terms of content, curriculum, and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may differ based on the specific department where the position is located.

Additional Qualifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • AHA/AAP Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is mandatory (for initial or upon renewal). Candidates may be hired with AHA/AAP Essential NRP but must obtain Advanced NRP within six weeks or at the completion of orientation, whichever is longer. Travel nurses may retain Essential NRP if not performing in Charge, Neonatal Resuscitation, Baby, or NICU RN roles.
  • If caring for recovering OB or surgical patients, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire.
  • STABLE certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Completion of the Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course is required within six months of labor training.
  • Ability to scrub or complete scrub training within six months of hire (specific to Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital).
  • Refer to the Women's Education Plan for ongoing competencies.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven ability to demonstrate positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
  • Proficiency in keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems relevant to job functions.

Licensure

  • Current applicable state RN license is required.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is necessary.

Pay Range

USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 per hour.
