About the Role

We are seeking an EHS Compliance Specialist to develop, implement, and oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs. This role ensures regulatory compliance, prevents workplace injuries, and mitigates environmental risks. The specialist acts as the site subject-matter expert in health, safety, and environmental regulations while partnering with leadership and employees to maintain a safe, compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports in line with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for OSHA, NFPA, and other EHS regulations.
  • Evaluate new chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, and site materials; coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Provide EHS training for employees, contractors, and new hires.
  • Conduct plant inspections, audits, and compliance training sessions.
  • Monitor and track sustainability metrics, updating databases quarterly.
  • Support safety committees and cross-functional teams to improve site safety culture.

General Duties

  • Conduct structured root-cause investigations of incidents and implement preventative actions.
  • Perform job safety analyses and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with facility management to ensure controls align with processes and equipment.
  • Research and interpret regulations to advise leadership and ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, pharmaceuticals, cGMP, or a similar regulated environment (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other EHS standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong organizational and team collaboration skills.
