One of our public accounting clients located in Owings Mills, MD is looking for an Audit Manager to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 4.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during audit and review engagements and build relationships with client management as well as communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Industries the team member will be working in and exposed to include Healthcare, rental real estate, not for profit, construction contracting and employee benefit plans, HUD, labor unions.
  • Scheduling, planning, and executing audit and review engagements in accordance with GAAS. Supervision and review of work prepared by staff and senior accountants.
  • Supervise and mentor team members by planning appropriate work for junior and senior staff, answering technical as well as procedural questions and teaching improved processes
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting and auditing issues. Able to identify misstatements and correcting journal entries.
  • Identify opportunities for improving efficiencies in audit and review engagement processes, manage and report to team manager regarding engagement budgets.
  • Ensure that all audit work complies with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of audit/accounting experience within a public accounting firm.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working with Not For Profit and Uniform Guidance industries required.
  • CPA required.
  • Experience managing multiple engagements and multiple staff members concurrently.
  • Strong analytical skills.
