Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 educational setting is seeking a licensed School Psychologist to provide prehensive psychological services throughout the academic year. This contracted position is based in Emporia, VA, and involves working directly with students, educators, and families to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of the school munity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct prehensive psychological assessments and interpret results to inform educational planning
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing behavioral and emotional challenges
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement intervention strategies
- Participate in eligibility meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and progress monitoring
- Support crisis intervention and provide consultation on behavior management and mental health resources
- Maintain accurate documentation and ply with state and local regulations related to education and mental health services
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with children and adolescents in K-12 settings
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting a range of psychological assessments
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educational staff, students, and families
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
