Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in a school setting, focused on supporting 4th grade students within a Resource Room environment. This contract position is located in Storrs Mansfield, CT, and will continue until the end of the current school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to 4th grade students with diverse learning needs.
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's abilities and goals.
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive education practices.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies to promote academic and social development.
- Maintaining clear and accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Experience teaching at the elementary level, particularly 4th grade.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and resource room strategies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with families.
