Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech Language Pathologist opportunity is available at an elementary school in Chesapeake, VA, for the upcoming school year on a contract basis. The role focuses on working with a diverse group of students exhibiting varying degrees of behavioral disorders, ranging from functional to inclusion settings. This position offers a collaborative atmosphere with a strong support team dedicated to fostering student growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for speech and language disorders in elementary-aged students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students specific communication needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create effective intervention strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to student support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Virginia SLP license or pending license to be active by August.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Experience working with pediatrics, particularly within school settings.
- Strong ability to manage students with behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team-oriented environments.
