LTC Pharmacist Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Hours of business : Monday through Friday varying shifts.
M-F 9:30-6 / 10-6:30 / 11-8:30
Sat-Sun 10-6:30
OT not required but may be offered occasionally.
LTC Pharmacist Compensation
- The pay for this position is $70.00 an hour for weekdays and $72.00 an hour for weekends
- Benefits are available to full-time employees
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees.
LTC Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
- Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
- Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients and ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files.
- Advise patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answer patients' questions.
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for external or internal use.
- Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Identify patient drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.
LTC Pharmacist Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist
- Not a requirement but IV experience would be a plus.
