Some key requirements:

  • Must be able to drive a sit-down and stand up forklift. A plus if they know how to operate a bendi forklift
  • Must live no more than 10-15min drive away
  • Must have reliable, personal transportation (no bus and not someone that gets dropped off/picked up daily)
  • THEY WILL START OFF WITH LEARNING HOW TO PICK FIRST FOR SOME WEEKS BEFORE TRANSITIONING OVER TO RECEIVING TRAINING/DUTIES.

  • POSITION TITLE: RECEIVING/SHIPPING ASSISTANT
  • FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME: FULL-TIME
  • HOURLY RATE RANGE (depending on experience): $17.50-18.50$/HR
  • DAYS OF THE WEEK: Monday through Friday; Saturdays as required upon advance notice
  • HOURS: (start time) 8:30AM - 5pm (hours depend on workload) or between 38-42 Hours per week
  • OVERTIME: Ability to work OT (depends on workload) and weekend

Note: We are looking for someone that lives no more than 10-15min away from the Innex Office and someone with current or very recent Forklift experience (sit-down Forklift and stand up reach. Bendi forklift is a PLUS!)

JOB DESCRIPTION AND SUMMARY:

The Receiving/Shipping Assistant handles all incoming deliveries to the warehouse by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading, and storing the received items, and processing any returns. Receiving duties will include weighing, measuring, checking in received company products, supplies, and equipment for keeping relevant records, along with the putaways of products into designated locations. Shipping duties include assisting the Shipping Clerk with tasks such as printing labels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of shipments being picked up, among others. This position offers the opportunity to be an important part of the Warehouse Operations along with some cross-training and room for growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Receives, examines, unpacks, counts, measures, and verifies incoming shipments against invoices, bills of lading, and other documents, looking for shortages, and rejecting of damaged goods in accordance with company SOP procedures/specifications.
  • Operates forklift, moves, organizes, stocks & restocks warehouse items in appropriate storage areas & issues merchandise receipts from ERP database.
  • Regularly maintains & logs items into the inventory computer database according to required procedures.
  • Prepares freight quotes, contacts vendors/suppliers regarding delivery schedules & shipping instructions.
  • Identifies & resolves receiving/shipping problems/issues on items not properly shipped or documented correctly & reports problems to management.
  • Performs routine and annual material warehouse audits/reconciliation process & reports discrepancies to management, offering recommendations for SOP improvements; prepares required audit reports.
  • Assists management with recycling of materials in the warehouse.
  • Interacts regularly with customers, internal departments, management, vendors & suppliers & proactively communicates shipping/receiving status, merchandise delays, or delivery problems.
  • Prepares merchandise for shipments, verifying item contents, delivery methods & other logistical details.
  • Accurately packages, labels, seals & weighs out-going shipments & determines shipping methods required to meet shipping/receiving schedules.
  • Inspects incoming shipments for defects, shortages & damages & prepares shipping labels with correct postage & special delivery instructions.
  • Maintains accurate shipping records and updates the inventory database of all shipped products.
  • As directed by management, assists warehouse personnel with general warehouse duties (stocking, pulling stock, packaging, material handling & related job duties), with a willingness to be cross trained & to proactively support warehouse operations.
  • Performs other job-related duties, special projects & job tasks as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient use of English language & ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Current or Prior Forklift Certification and experience with a positive track record of safe material handling.
  • Knowledge of RF scanner; proficient math & record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple job duties, adapt quickly to workplace changes & to work overtime as needed.
  • Proficient math skills, organization/record keeping skills & computer skills (word perfect, Microsoft excel, outlook, & internal applications, systems & controls). Typing: 45-50 wpm.
  • Ability to proactively work under pressure within allotted timeframes and cut-off dates.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess current forklift certification.
  • Maintaining a reliable, satisfactory attendance/punctuality record is an essential requirement of this job.
  • Willingness to be cross trained, to train others & to work as part of a team in other areas of warehouse operations.
