Job Description
An optical sales associate assists patients in finding the correct frame based on the patient's face shape and eyewear needs, helps the patient determine appropriate lens options, and takes accurate measurements to ensure that the lenses align correctly in the patient's frame.
This is a commission based salary. The base pay is $11.00-$12.00/hour. Commissions are paid each pay period (every 2 weeks) and range from $225-$400. Higher commissions are attainable by providing personalized service and education to patients.
Duties:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists
- Recommend appropriate lens materials, frames, and lens coatings based on patients' needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Process orders for eyewear
- Maintain accurate and organized records
- Utilize practice management system to bill insurance companies
On the job training will be provided for a motivated learner.
