Job DescriptionShop Lead Position Summary:
The Shop Assembly Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the assembly team and building requirements. This will include assisting with establishing key performance standards, coaching, and mentoring assembly line members to become problem solvers, and performing key communication functions to assist with continuous improvement activities.
Shop Lead Essential Functions:
- Assist with the completion of the production work schedule daily
- Coaches and mentors employees to become problem solvers
- Communicates and enables safety activities online of responsibility
- Balances quality, productivity, and costs in daily activities
- Manages departmental performance measures using visual controls and provides regular progress reports to the manager
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Assists with employment decisions
- Assists with resolving employee issues through problem resolution
- Assists with accident investigations
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Shop Lead Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalency Certificate)
- 3 – 5 years of welding, fabrication, and equipment plumbing preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Agricultural experience is a plus
Shop Lead Essential Skills and/or Abilities:
- Proficient in MS Office
- AS400 experience is a plus
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- An ability to think ahead, plan, and prepare action plans to achieve results.
