Responsibilities
- Conduct dog training sessions to improve obedience, behavior, and socialization using positive reinforcement techniques, per the Sit Means Sit Training Methods
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate training programs based on their needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently during training and one-on-one sessions, ensuring proper techniques
- Support the team with duties such as cleaning, feeding, and caring for animals in our care areas as needed
- Engage with customers with exemplary customer service skills to build trust and provide exceptional service
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or animals when necessary to maintain a safe environment
Skills
- Proven experience in dog training or dog behavior
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely manage dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of general animal care practices
- Customer service expertise with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Excellent communication skills to educate pet owners effectively on training methods and pet care needs
