KIDS PASTOR (Part-Time) // CROSSROADS CHURCH
The Kids Pastor is a part-time (25 hours per week) position responsible for overseeing the children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade) at their assigned campus. This role includes planning and executing weekly programming, recruiting and training volunteers, supporting families, and maintaining a safe and Christ-centered environment for children. The Kids Pastor reports to the Campus Pastor and collaborates with the broader Crossroads Kids Ministry team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee all “CR Kids” ministry operations at the assigned campus.
- Lead weekend services, special events, and volunteer team meetings.
- Plan and schedule programming in advance to ensure consistency and preparedness.
- Ensure weekend services are developmentally appropriate, biblically sound, and effectively delivered.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new volunteer leaders.
- Train and equip volunteers to fulfill their roles effectively.
- Maintain regular communication and provide ongoing support and recognition for volunteers.
- Ensure adequate volunteer coverage for all scheduled ministry times.
Family Engagement & Spiritual Support
- Provide care and support for children and their families.
- Maintain a welcoming and relational environment for families attending CR Kids.
- Share resources and communicate regularly with parents to support discipleship at home.
Program Execution & Improvement
- Create and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment for children.
- Implement curriculum and activities that align with church values and biblical teaching.
- Evaluate programming regularly for effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree in related field or experience in kids ministry is preferred.
Qualifications
- Highly Organized
- Ability to schedule and recruit volunteers
- Work independently and collaborate with all teams
- Awareness of/an agreement with the ECC (Evangelical Covenant Church) theology and practice.
Environment
- Work is accomplished primarily indoors in an administrative environment
- Working extra hours should be expected at times throughout the year
