Job Overview:
The Outdoor Lighting Crew Lead will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of technicians and installers on outdoor lighting projects. This role requires excellent knowledge of outdoor lighting systems, a strong work ethic, and the ability to motivate and lead a crew to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of lighting technicians to ensure efficient project execution.
- Oversee the installation of outdoor lighting systems, including architectural lighting, landscape lighting, hardscape lighting, and water feature lighting.
- Ensure all installations adhere to local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to lighting systems, wiring, and electrical components.
- Conduct on-site evaluations and site assessments for project planning and execution.
- Train crew members on proper installation techniques, equipment handling, and safety practices.
- Communicate with clients to ensure their expectations are met, including addressing concerns and providing guidance on maintenance.
- Ensure proper inventory and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain high standards of quality, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Keep accurate documentation of project progress, team hours, and materials used.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in outdoor lighting installation, electrical systems, or related field (landscape construction, hardscape construction, irrigation construction).
- 2+ years in proven leadership experience in managing a crew, preferably in an outdoor or construction environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and project plans.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials.
- Clean drug screen.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Work history with verifiable references
- Up to 50% travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of low voltage outdoor lighting systems, wiring, transformers, and control systems.
- Electrical certification or relevant training.
- Familiarity with landscape design principles.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
