Job Title: Barback
Department: Bar/Beverage Service
Reports To: FOH Manager
Job Summary:
1972 Pub is looking for a hardworking and reliable Barback to support our bar team and ensure efficient and smooth service for our guests, who are here to celebrate and support women's sports! As a Barback, you will play a crucial role in assisting bartenders, maintaining bar cleanliness, and ensuring the bar is well-stocked. We pride ourselves on our teamwork and are looking for someone who is excited to collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Support bartenders in all aspects of bar operations, including restocking liquor, beer, wine, and ice.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including bar top, counters, sinks, and floors.
- Ensure an adequate supply of glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Prepare garnishes, juices, and other bar ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the walk-in refrigerator.
- Change beer kegs and restock bar refrigerators.
- Collect and wash glassware.
- Empty trash receptacles and remove bar debris.
- Assist bartenders with drink preparation as needed.
- Set up and break down the bar before and after service.
- Help maintain cleanliness of the entire Pub.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by being a reliable, respectful, and proactive team player.
- Learn and maintain an understanding of womens sports.
Qualifications:
- Passion for women's sports.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be of legal age to handle alcohol.
- Team Player: Must be a reliable, respectful, and proactive team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with others.
- Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
- Adaptability: The ability to be flexible in the tasks assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of bar operations and basic cocktail preparation.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Barback in a high-volume bar or restaurant preferred.
