We are excited to bring our passion for coffee and hospitality to our first location in Staten Island. We are looking for energetic, skilled, and passionate Baristas to join our founding team in the US.
Job Summary
As a Barista at Veloce, you will be the face of our brand in New York. You will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, preparing signature dessert items, and providing a warm, welcoming experience that reflects our commitment to quality and hospitality. You will guide customers through our menu, introducing them to our unique signature drinks and the rich tradition of Saudi coffee.
Key Responsibilities
• Coffee Excellence: Expertly prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages (Latte, Cortado, Cappuccino), manual brews (V60), and Veloce signatures (Spanish Latte, Pistachio Latte).
• Cultural Ambassador: Learn and prepare traditional Saudi Coffee (served in cups or Dallah) and explain its unique flavor profile to customers. If needed.
• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and plating of our dessert menu, including mini pancakes, waffles, and crepes with various toppings (Nutella, Pistachio, Lotus).
• Customer Service: Greet customers with genuine enthusiasm, take orders efficiently, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Quality Control: Ensure every cup and plate meets Veloce’s high standards for taste and presentation.
• Operations: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, restock supplies (beans, milk, syrups, packaging), and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
• Equipment Care: Calibrate espresso machines and grinders daily; perform routine cleaning and maintenance of brewing equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in latte art is highly preferred.
o Experience with manual brewing methods (V60, Chemex) is a plus.
o Ability to dial in espresso and adjust grinders.
• Attitude: Friendly, outgoing, and eager to learn about new coffee cultures.
• Availability: Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Language: Fluent in English; Italian language skills are a plus (but not required).
• Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
