Position Responsibilities:
- perform all nuclear medicine imaging.
- Perform computer acquisition and processing necessary for the display, analysis and interpretation of the patient’s condition· You will receive radioactive materials, prepare radioactive material doses and maintain radiation records.perform all tasks expected in hot lab area.
- utilize established radiation safety techniques and equipment.
- Perform quality control on all instrumentation in the nuclear medicine department, review data collected and report immediately to the supervisor or radiation safety officer
- Perform dosage administration which includes intravenous and oral, and IV setup as outlined in office policy
- Adherence to the rotational position methodology with a focus on punctuality.
- Assist stress technician/nurse with patient’s setup for stress/chemical stress, and EKJ lead placement during pharmaceutical stress, exercise testing and emergency situations
- Complete all computer and paperwork associated with the nuclear medicine procedure in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide documentation, including electronic forms, that is accurate, legible and complete.
- Adhere to all policies and regulations regarding the safe handling, dispensing, monitoring and disposing of radioactive material
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Comply with all regulatory requirements at state and federal level.
Job Requirements
Education and Licensure:
- Associate's Degree (preferred)
- NMTCB or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (N) ; must maintain current
- Certified by State of Texas – MRT
- CPR/BLS certification
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience (preferred)
Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Good alpha/numeric dexterity and handwriting skills
- Interpersonal skills for communication with patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Computer Skills
