Qualifications:


Associate degree or equivalent education required. 0-3 years of experience. Strong PC skills, especially in MS Office applications. QuickBooks application is desirable. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Able to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Excellent communicator. Needs basic math skills. Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures. Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in area of specialization. Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Essential Functions:

Interprets and evaluates contract provisions. Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials. Research, interview, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Obtains oral and written price quotes from vendors. Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Purchases goods for the manufacturing department. Creates a production schedule, this schedule is used to track both manufacturing output and customer requests. By maintaining this schedule, the buyer planner ensures that inventory levels are in step with production requirements. Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a degree of technical knowledge. Prepares and makes purchase orders through a computerized system and places orders for the purchase of goods and services. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and purchase order records. Able to prioritize and handle competing priorities. Excellent follow-up and follow-through. Ability to work with employees at all

levels. Ability to handle several tasks. And other duties assigned by your supervisor to assist the JEM team. Carry out activities oriented in compliance with the established quality management system.
