Duties & Responsibilities

Seeking a qualified, full-time Concrete Crew Lead to join our team for year-round work. Commercial Concrete Company has a variety of positions available, including: Concrete Foreman/Crew Lead, Concrete Finishers, Laborers, & Carpenters. Duties and responsibilities depend on the position being applied for.

The candidate for the Foreman position will need to be able to fully complete from start to finish various concrete projects together with a team of 2-3. The Crew Lead position will need to be able to fully complete from start to finish various concrete and masonry projects together with a team of 2-3. This position will be fully supported by an additional foreman. Must have 3-5 years of concrete experience. Must be proficient to finish concrete on day 1. We are not looking to train you to finish!

Concrete Foreman/Crew Lead – duties include, but are not limited to:

· Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.

· Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

· Resolving all problems that may affect the project.

· Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.

· Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.

· Assist crew with various duties such as shoveling, raking, safely backing/dumping trucks.

· Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials.

· Be able to use both walk-behind and ride-on troweling machines.

· Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights in a safe and efficient manner.

· Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.

· Follow the direction of the supervisor/project manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.

· Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.

· Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.

· Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring have been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.

· Proficient with total station.

· Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

· Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Union membership in good standing or willingness to join local union 633.

· Perform each responsibility stated above successfully.

· High school diploma or a General Education Degree is preferred.

· 3 - 5 years minimum of related concrete and construction experience and/or training.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

· Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

· Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.

· Ability to read, write, and do basic mathematical calculations.

· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

· Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.

· Perform heavy labor and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Able to work in all weather conditions.

The hourly pay rate is based on the collective bargaining agreement of the local union contract in the Twin Cities Metro area. Benefits are provided based on the union contract, with total pay packages ranging from $76.00 - $81.00 per hour.
