What You’ll Do:

  • Provide leadership and technical direction for all airframe manufacturing processes, including composite layup, bonding, trimming, metallic integration, and assembly sequencing.

  • Own the full lifecycle of airframe builds—from concept through flight test readiness—partnering closely with design, quality, and certification teams to ensure manufacturability, compliance, and risk mitigation.

  • Develop and implement tooling strategies and fixtures tailored for prototype builds, balancing precision with practicality in a low-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Serve as the go-to expert on the shop floor, leading root cause investigations and executing timely corrective actions to uphold schedule, quality, and structural integrity.

  • Act as a key liaison between manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA) to ensure all materials, documentation, and processes support certification goals.

  • Mentor and guide engineers and technicians, championing best practices, creative problem-solving, and a hands-on culture of ownership and accountability.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering—or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing with a focus on airframe assembly and composite structures. Experience with prototype or experimental aircraft is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM), particularly for complex composite structures and bonded assemblies.

  • Proficiency in advanced manufacturing tools such as CAD, PLM, and MES systems.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across engineering, production, and quality functions.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative development environment, balancing strategic program goals with hands-on execution.
