Job Description

Job Description

Company Overview Librium Group is a global advisory firm dedicated to helping the U.S. government solve its most complex infrastructure, resilience, and mission-dominance challenges. We partner with federal agencies, developers, and investors to design, structure, and deliver transformative projects-from early-stage concept through financial close. With experience supporting over $12 billion in transactions, 3.7 gigawatts of generation capacity, and projects across 22 countries, we bring clarity, rigor, and precision to every engagement.

Our work spans critical infrastructure, national security, and major programs shaping how the nation delivers resilient, future-ready energy and installation solutions. At Librium Group, culture is paramount; we are a team built on trust, humility, excellence, and an unwavering commitment to client success. You will work side-by-side with teammates both on client site and virtually each day, in an environment grounded in support, purpose, and collaboration.

Position Summary Librium Group is seeking a technically strong, mission-driven Power Engineer to support high-impact energy, resilience, and infrastructure programs across the Department of the Navy and broader federal clients. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of electrical system analysis, power distribution planning, and strategic advisory work-and who is excited to support transformative energy initiatives with national visibility.

In this role, you will perform power system studies, support installation-level energy resilience assessments, evaluate distribution and substation infrastructure, and contribute to the development of microgrids and advanced distributed energy resources. You will help shape large-scale modernization efforts and ensure that critical federal facilities have reliable, mission-aligned energy solutions.

This position requires on-site client support at the Washington Navy Yard (Washington, DC) 2–4 days per week, with flexibility for remote work. Occasional travel may be required based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Power System Analysis

  • Conduct power flow studies, load modeling, fault analysis, arc flash assessments, and reliability evaluations.
  • Assess distribution systems, substations, protective relays, and switching schemes for modernization and mission resilience.
  • Support technical development of microgrids, distributed energy resources, and renewable energy integration.
  • Review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance with codes, standards, and installation requirements.
  • Contribute to energy security and resilience assessments across Navy and federal installations.

Project Development & Strategic Advisory

  • Support technical scoping and solution development for major energy and infrastructure programs.
  • Develop engineering reports, planning documents, technical memoranda, and decision briefings.
  • Coordinate with utilities, developers, and engineering partners to inform system design, interconnection, and execution strategies.
  • Contribute to cost estimates, business case analyses, and evaluation of project alternatives.

Client Engagement & Collaboration

  • Engage directly with senior military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Communicate complex electrical engineering concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Support cross-functional coordination across engineering, acquisition, financial, and policy workstreams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in power systems engineering, utility infrastructure, or energy resilience projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, protection schemes, and reliability fundamentals.
  • Experience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, CYME, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving client requirements.
  • Professional presence and sound judgment when interacting with senior government stakeholders.
  • Interest in mission-driven work supporting federal energy and national security goals.
  • U.S. Citizen

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
  • Experience with DoD, Navy, or federal energy programs.
  • Knowledge of microgrid design, DER integration, and installation-level resilience planning.
  • Familiarity with UFCs, IEEE standards, NEC, and federal engineering processes.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or progress toward licensure.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.

Why Join Librium Group At Librium Group, you will join a collaborative, high-trust team that values technical excellence, integrity, and purpose-driven work. You will contribute to programs that directly support national mission readiness while developing your skills within a fast-growing advisory firm.

In this role, you will:

  • Support critical energy and resilience initiatives with real operational impact.
  • Work directly with senior Navy leadership on strategic infrastructure programs.
  • Grow through hands-on engineering and advisory experience across complex federal projects.
  • Be part of a culture centered on people, teamwork, and meaningful mission support.
