Elma Home Care is a family-style assisted living community supporting adults 18+ with a focus on mental health, emotional support, and independent living.
Most of our residents are highly independent and do not require extensive physical care. Our focus is on guidance, structure, redirection, and supportive relationships.
Position Summary
We are looking for calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent staff who are comfortable working with behavioral health needs.
This role is less about hands-on care and more about:
- Supporting healthy boundaries
- Providing redirection and reassurance
- Helping residents stay on routine
- Maintaining a safe, respectful environment
️ What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Providing reminders and setup support (hygiene, meals)
- Assisting with medications
- Planning and engaging in fun activities
- Redirecting inappropriate or concerning behaviors in a calm, professional way
- Monitoring resident interactions and maintaining a safe environment
- Supporting residents with emotional regulation and communication
- Documenting behaviors and reporting changes to leadership
- Encouraging independence while offering guidance when needed
- Light ADL assistance only when necessary (most residents are independent)

- Are uncomfortable redirecting behaviors or having difficult conversations
- Struggle with maintaining professional boundaries
Shifts Available
- Evening: 12PM – 10PM
- NOC: 10PM – 8AM
✅ Qualifications
- 18+
- CNA, HCA, or willingness to obtain (WA State compliant)
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass DSHS background check
- Experience in behavioral health, caregiving, or customer-facing roles is a plus
