Third Shift Nurse (LPN/RN)
Department: Nursing
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Status: Part-Time, non-exempt

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality nursing care according to established procedures and physician instructions.
  • Assess resident needs and participate in planning individualized care.
  • Support residents with daily activities including dressing, mobility, meals, and comfort needs.
  • Perform nursing procedures such as treatments, medication administration, and rounding.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in charts, Medex, and care books.
  • Communicate with laboratory, pharmacy, and physicians; arrange appointments and follow-up.
  • Respond to call lights promptly and ensure a safe, uncluttered environment.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet total resident needs.
  • Supervise nursing personnel and assist with evaluations and performance support.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new nursing staff.
  • Manage shift coverage concerns when Director of Nursing is not available.
  • Provide leadership in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Assist in emergency response situations and follow all safety and disaster procedures.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current State of Iowa LPN or RN license.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with routine lifting needs.
  • Ability to read and use equipment such as blood pressure cuffs and thermometers.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, mission-driven service.
  • A respectful, courteous presence with residents, staff, and guests.

When Assigned as Charge Nurse

  • Serve as a resource for nursing personnel.
  • Support decision-making with other nursing staff.
  • Manage staffing issues, including call-offs and replacement coverage.
  • Order emergency medications when needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Floor-to-waist lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Waist-to-shoulder lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Bilateral carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push and pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, bending, and stooping.


Part-time: 11 PM - 7 AM
