Our organization is seeking a PM&R physician who is enthusiastic about a combined inpatient and outpatient role, primarily concentrating on neurological rehabilitation, while also having the chance to engage in musculoskeletal care within the outpatient setting.
The Practice:
- We operate as part of a comprehensive multispecialty clinic within the Neuroscience Center, collaborating with specialists in Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Pain Medicine.
- The PM&R Department encompasses PM&R, Neuropsychology, and Chiropractic services.
Current PM&R Team:
- 4 Musculoskeletal PM&R Physicians
- 3 Neurorehabilitation PM&R Physicians (with plans to add a 4th)
- 1 Pediatric PM&R Physician
Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs):
- 4 Inpatient PM&R APCs
- 3 Outpatient/MSK PM&R APCs
- 5 Neuropsychologists
- 3 Chiropractors
Inpatient Practice:
- Recently renovated 20-bed unit in the hospital, overseen by the 4 Neurorehabilitation physicians and 4 APCs.
- Call responsibilities are managed by APCs, covering nights, weekends, and holidays, shared among the providers.
- Strong hospitalist support is available for patients with complex medical needs.
Outpatient Practice:
- Focuses on neurological rehabilitation, including conditions such as CVA, SCI, TBI, MS, concussion, and spasticity management, which includes Botox and intrathecal baclofen pump management. While musculoskeletal care is a lesser focus, it is still an option. There is potential for EMG procedures.
Procedures Involved:
- EMG
- Botox injections
- Trigger Point Injections and nerve blocks
