Job DescriptionMancan Staffing is assisting a local South Charleston firm seeking an accountant/bookkeeper.
Full time Temp to perm position
Schedule = Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Pay is based on skills - $17-$22 / hour
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine bookkeeping functions, including data entry, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting (as needed)
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
Assist with month-end close procedures
Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers
Assist with sales tax filings and basic compliance reporting
Support year-end processes, including 1099 preparation
Communicate with internal staff and clients to resolve discrepancies
Work primarily in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks Desktop, or Online and other accounting software
Maintain organized electronic documentation
Qualifications:
Proven bookkeeping experience
Strong experience using QuickBooks (required)
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles
Accounting education or accounting experience is a big plus
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and in an office environment
