Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.
Pay: $19.01 - $28.89 per hour based on experience, plus earn up to 18% more with our Pay-In-Lieu of Benefits!
Schedule: Fulltime, 4-days per week, 64 hours per pay period (32 hours weekly) 8am-4:30pm, no weekends!

The Massage Therapist evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members and maintains appropriate documentation of services. Participates in on-going facility meetings and conducts in-service and training for facility staff on ongoing basis. Massage therapy uses touch in order to manipulate the soft body tissues to increase the health and well-being of each patient. The major goal a massage therapist has is to help the body to heal itself. This can happen by promoting blood flow, stimulating nerves, conditioning the skin and stretching and loosening up the muscles to keep them elastic.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma plus a minimum of 600 hours completed in a massage therapy program.
- Maintain an active Massage Therapy License in Colorado.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience as a massage therapist.
- Able to understand medical terminology and how it applies to massage therapy, to communicate with residents, staff, physicians, and to prepare meaningful reports.
- Coordination and dexterity are necessary when treating residents and handling therapeutic equipment.
- Ability to communicate with participants to establish favorable attitude and to motivate the participants to desired cooperation and effort in his/her rehabilitation development.
- Possesses adequate strength and endurance to meet the physical demands involved in moving participants and equipment into position for treatment and in manipulating equipment and participants.
- Interested in geriatric rehabilitation.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and uphold our commitment to safety
- Protect our workspace culture by recognizing and supporting team goals and building positive relationships with team members.
- Perform progression quality massage, within scope of practice and certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform high quality treatment services with complete focus on the participant.
- Provide individualized massage techniques such as aromatherapy treatment, enhanced muscle therapy treatments, deep tissue release, effleurage and petrissage to assist with pant management, relaxation, lactic acid release and to assist with decreasing muscle guarding and contractures. Utilize stretching and ROM to additionally assist with participant mobility, muscle length and healing.
- Create a warm, fun, friendly relationship with participants and staff encouraging massage treatments to be utilized when needed and educating participant on the appropriate bodywork for their needs and ways to maintain pain relief at home independently
- Establish empathy and person-centered approach with each participant.
- Maintain clean and organized treatment room, fresh for each participant.
- Utilize appropriate draping techniques, individualizing massage positioning (sitting/standing/side-lying) depending on what participant is able to tolerate.
- Chart review medical history and information to determine best massage treatment for each participant.
- Perform and document all sessions performed according to established guidelines.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and sensitivity during all participant/staff interaction.
- Massages will be provided based off of PCP/NP and PT recommendations per PACE guidelines. Massage Guidelines as follows: 8 visits at one given time with additional 8 being offered based off participants needs and recommendations from PT/NP and PCP.
