The Role

We are seeking a motivated Freight Broker Sales professional to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, resolving complex logistical questions and offering tailored solutions to drive company revenue. You will manage the full lifecycle of shipping solutions, from initial prospecting to final delivery, ensuring that Freight Connection remains the top choice for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Actively prospect and contact potential new clients to expand our footprint in the logistics market.
  • Sales Execution: Present and sell our comprehensive suite of logistics services (LTL, Full Load, Rail, Air, Ocean, Tradeshow, and more) to new and existing customers.
  • Account Management: Set regular follow-up appointments to maintain strong relationships and keep customers informed of the latest industry developments and service offerings.
  • Target Achievement: Reach and exceed agreed-upon sales targets and KPIs within established deadlines.
  • Problem Solving: Act as a strategic partner to clients, identifying the right transportation mode for their unique cargo requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or a highly related transportation field.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong rapport with diverse clients.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage pricing and service expectations effectively.
  • Mindset: Detail-oriented with a drive to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with various modes of transport (Van, Flatbed, LTL/TL, Intermodal) and geographic routing throughout the USA and Canada.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package designed to reward high performers. Based on current Los Angeles logistics industry standards:

  • Base Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
  • Commission Structure: Aggressive, uncapped commission plan based on gross profit margin.
  • Total On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000 – $150,000+ (uncapped).
  • Benefits: 401k and PTO.
