Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An experienced registered nurse with a solid background in critical care is sought for a contract position on a progressive care unit specializing in stepdown and higher acuity patients. This night-shift role involves caring for complex patients needing advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and infusion therapies in a 28-bed unit. Ideal candidates have strong experience with ventilators, insulin drips, dysrhythmia assessments, and the ability to manage multi-system trauma and respiratory, renal, or surgical patients.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license in the practicing state or compact nursing licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required; CCRN or PCCN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 6 months in acute care preferred
- Critical care skills with ventilator and infusion management experience
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
- Experience with electronic health records, preferably EPIC
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement nursing care plans
- Administer medications including drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone (no pressors)
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients, trach care, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, and Airvo therapy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, serve as patient advocate, and educate patients and families
- Maintain patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives

- 12-hour night shifts
