Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments using proper protocols, monitor for side effects and treatment efficacy.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, medication, and care delivered.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers, addressing learning needs and available resources.
- Make appropriate clinical assignments and delegate tasks to support team members.
- Meet competency standards consistent with professional nursing practice and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or compact license required.
- Minimum of 1 year recent ER nursing experience, preferably in trauma Level I, II, or III settings.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC from the American Heart Association.
- Completion of New Nurse Orientation and Emergency Department competency validations as required.
Work Schedule:
- Multiple shifts available, including weekend and on-call rotations (6 weekend days and 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks).
- Full-time contract employment.
