Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide advanced cardiopulmonary care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at a respected hospital in Van Wert, OH. This contract position requires a skilled professional certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) to deliver timely diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. You will be instrumental in supporting physicians during invasive and non-invasive procedures, managing ventilators, and conducting comprehensive pulmonary assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medicated aerosols with medical compressed gases and maintain patient airways
- Manage ventilators and provide respiratory support including intubations and arterial line insertions
- Conduct pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and perform blood gas analyses
- Follow established protocols and department policies to ensure high-quality care
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary medical teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications and Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC (required)
- Valid Ohio Respiratory Therapist license (required)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (required)
- Experience working within hospital settings and familiarity with respiratory care protocols
