Job Description

Our organization is excited to present a fantastic full-time opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Sleep Medicine Physician in Mason City, Iowa, on behalf of the Mason City Clinic.

The Sleep Medicine physician will operate within a dedicated department, enjoying autonomy in their practice. This department collaborates closely with the ENT division, particularly with patients who have undergone INSPIRE therapy. The practice is already well-established and thriving, with the current physician nearing retirement and willing to mentor the new hire. Mason City is home to two sleep labs: Midwest Sleep Services and MercyOne Sleep Services.

Our dedicated physicians and staff prioritize compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care while promoting overall health. We offer a two-year shareholder track along with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Mason City is a welcoming community with a population of around 30,000. Our service area spans approximately 15 counties, serving a patient base of about 260,000. The clinic operates as a multi-specialty physician group without primary care, ensuring that all our physicians are specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients by reviewing and interpreting their health histories and relevant tests to establish diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluation results, providing education to patients.
  • Manage sleep disorders for both new and returning patients.
  • Interpret home and laboratory studies for patients.
  • Identify abnormal patient responses to treatments, surgeries, or medications, and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Document all aspects of patient care and complete necessary paperwork for service payment.
  • Stay updated on trends and advancements in the field through reading relevant literature and attending seminars and conferences.

This role presents an exciting chance for a Sleep Medicine physician to enjoy a high quality of life, camaraderie among colleagues, and a friendly community, all while collaborating with highly skilled physicians and support staff.

Recruitment Package

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a two-year shareholder track for the right candidate.

Our facility is a 342-bed regional referral teaching hospital recognized nationally as a Top 100 Hospital for excellence in clinical outcomes, growth, and fiscal management. Our medical staff comprises over 300 physicians across nearly all medical and surgical specialties, from general care to open-heart surgery. We operate a full-service hospital with a 24/7 Hospitalist program and are designated as a Level III trauma center. Our educational offerings include a four-year Cardiology Fellowship, Palliative Care Fellowship, Family Medicine Residency Program, and Internal Medicine Residency Program. Our outpatient clinic benefits from close proximity to inpatient services, on-site medical imaging, a variety of specialists for consultations, a sleep lab, electronic medical records, PACS, and a comprehensive medical library. We blend the warmth of a hometown healthcare center with the advanced technology and resources of a modern medical facility.

Our organization consistently achieves outstanding patient outcomes through teamwork, high-quality standards, dynamic partnerships, and cutting-edge technology.

We are part of a larger health system that is one of the largest Catholic healthcare networks in the United States, serving communities across 22 states with over 90 hospitals and numerous continuing care facilities.
