Overview:
Position SummaryWe are looking for a Bilingual Cotton Field Technician to support harvesting, sampling, and research activities at our cotton processing facility. This role requires working outdoors in all weather, long seasonal hours, and assisting with both field and greenhouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with harvesting, pulling cotton samples, and operating field/processing equipment
- Support planting, packaging, and shipment of trial seed
- Maintain conventional and transgenic test plots (land prep, cultivating, spraying, etc.)
- Collect field data on crop performance and assist in note-taking for yield trials
- Perform nursery and greenhouse activities, including planting, selections, crossing, and hand harvest
- Operate research cotton gin as needed
- Safely handle bags up to 50 lbs and perform daily farm duties as assigned
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 6–7 days a week during peak season
Skills and Experience:
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Ability to work long hours (12-hour shifts, 6–7 days/week during peak season)
- Comfortable working in heat, humidity, and outdoor conditions year-round
- Physically able to perform demanding fieldwork
- 1–3 years of yield testing or agricultural experience preferred
