Role Description

Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed.


  • Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Schedules appointments
  • Gathers patients and insurance information
  • Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete
  • Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMR
  • Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients
  • Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete
  • Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
  • Print and prepare forms for patients visit
  • Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR
  • Allocates balances to insurance as needed
  • Always maintains a clean workspace
  • Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment, and supplies
  • Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in patient care practices and basic knowledge of medicine
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols and procedures within a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and maintaining confidentiality
