Job DescriptionHOSPITAL LINE COOK
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospital Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. This role is essential in providing high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with dietary guidelines and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of food in patient recovery and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food storage areas.
- Slice and dice food for preparation.
- Stock food and maintain inventory.
- Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for improving food quality and variety.
- Support catering for hospital events and special functions when required.
- Deliver a high level of customer service.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1–2 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, institutional, or commercial kitchen setting.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets, and dietary guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.50/hr.
