The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is looking to hire a full-time Environmental Services (EVS) Technician. The EVS Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean environment within the Miccosukee Health Center. The EVS Technician will be required to work both independently and as part of a team with other Environmental Services staff and will be required to clean & maintain patient areas in the Health Center to include patient waiting room, exam rooms, observation rooms, hallways, floors & walls, as well as laundry and dining areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keeps patient waiting room, exam rooms, observation rooms, hallways & floors free of dirt and grime, spills, and/or stains.
- Ensures patient waiting room, exam rooms, observation rooms, hallways & floors are sanitized correctly with germicidal cleaning products to stop the spread of contagious illnesses and diseases.
- Cleans, scrubs, sanitize and disinfects all restrooms and locker rooms, and supplies them.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
- Gathers and empties trash.
- Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment in patient areas.
- Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Environmental Services Technician Qualifications / Skills:
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
- Physical ability to stand, bend or kneel throughout the work day
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
- Good communication skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of custodial and/or similar type of work experience preferred.
- Any work-related certifications, i.e. OSHA, Environmental, Safety, Biohazard Cleaning and Disposal etc. preferred but not required.
Drug Test & Background Check Required.
