Location: Eureka, CA
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Compensation
- Traveler Pay: $55–$60 per Hour ($2,200–$2,400 Weekly)
- Local Pay: $40–$45 per Hour ($1,600–$1,800 Weekly)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team in Eureka, California. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with established departmental protocols.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative clinical environment and support high-quality patient care through accurate diagnostic imaging services.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain examination processes.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control practices.
- Review images for quality and completeness before submission for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Float between similar imaging units as needed to support departmental operations.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current California Radiologic Technologist License required.
- Fluoroscopy Permit required.
- ARRT (R) Certification required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technologist experience required.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiography procedures and equipment.
- Understanding of radiation protection and patient safety practices.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Additional Information
- On-call participation required.
- Floating between similar units may be required.
- Local candidates accepted.
- Pending licenses will not be accepted.
- Block scheduling may be considered based on manager discretion.
- Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission.
- Must meet all facility onboarding, credentialing, and compliance requirements.
