Job DescriptionHomewatch CareGivers of Cape May is seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. Towns we service include but are not limited to; Hammonton, Egg Harbor City, Mays Landing, Galloway, Absecon, Northfield, Linwood, Somers Point. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by assisting with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, and promoting their overall well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care.

Duties Include

  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Monitor and document patient health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation as required by healthcare protocols.
  • Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Assist with memory care activities for patients experiencing cognitive challenges.
  • Launder patient clothing and bedding as needed to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in caregiving or home health aide roles is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is highly desirable
  • Experience in long-term care settings is a plus, especially for those working with elderly or disabled patients.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is advantageous.
  • Strong observational skills to recognize changes in patient conditions effectively.
