What You'll Be Doing

  • Safely operate excavation equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers to dig trenches for sewer line installations.
  • Ensure excavation work is done in compliance with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Assist in the layout and alignment of trenches, ensuring proper depth and slope for sewer systems.
  • Work closely with the installation team to coordinate excavation and installation activities.
  • Monitor and maintain excavation equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Perform daily safety checks on equipment before use and report any maintenance issues.
  • Follow project blueprints and instructions to ensure correct trench positioning and depth.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure timely project completion while meeting all quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as required to support excavation and installation efforts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating excavation equipment (minimum of 2 years required).
  • Strong knowledge of excavation practices, safety procedures, and local codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary certifications (if applicable).
