About the Augustine Institute
The mission of the Augustine Institute is to serve the formation of Catholics for the New Evangelization. Through our graduate school, media, and parish programs, we equip Catholics intellectually, spiritually, and pastorally to renew the Church and transform the world for Christ.
Position Summary
The single most important role of the Mid-Level Giving Officer is to proactively encourage ongoing and increasing financial support from donors who give between $1,000 and $10,000 per year. The individual will be expected to meet annual production goals as agreed with the Executive Director of Mission Advancement and Chief Mission Advancement and Strategy Officer.
The Mid-Level Giving Officer is part of the Augustine Institute’s Advancement team and bridges the strategic goals of the Institute with the organization’s most generous and engaged donors and prospective donors. In this role, you will manage relationships with a portfolio of donors, seeking financial support for the Augustine Institute. The Mid-Level Giving Officer is responsible for overseeing long-term donor relationships, as well as cultivating donors who have the potential to support the Institute in a larger capacity.
The Mid-Level Giving Officer is expected to:
- Create and implement an annual strategy to manage, coordinate, and distribute stewardship materials to select donors, including, but not limited to:
- Those who have given $1,000-$10,000 annually
- Those who have previously been at major gift level, but have been dormant
- Those who give at a high level through the Mission Circle monthly giving society
- Proactively manage a portfolio of 100 to 200 donors through a disciplined strategy of discernment, cultivation, solicitation, and portfolio churn.
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for each donor in the portfolio, with the objective of growing revenue year-over-year through cultivation and solicitation of financial commitments.
- Work with prospect management and donor research to add and remove prospects and donors from a portfolio, as appropriate.
- Work with members of the Advancement team to establish processes by which potential donors are identified, moved into a portfolio, cultivated, and, if applicable, escalated to a major gifts officer.
- Effectively represent and articulate the work of the Augustine Institute, presenting a compelling case for support.
- Share the mission of the Augustine Institute and the joy of the Catholic faith with donors to encourage their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Assist with the creation of stewardship materials, working closely with internal partners to ensure initiatives are presented to donors and prospects in a compelling way.
- Support the broader Advancement team on special projects or efforts that contribute to the Augustine Institute’s larger regional and national goals.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Mission Advancement

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Solid and comprehensive knowledge and consistent practice of the Catholic faith.
- At least three years of experience in non-profit fundraising and donor relations.
- Impeccable credentials and integrity.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office Suite, and able to quickly assimilate to proprietary and new technology.
- A working knowledge of Salesforce is preferred.
