We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our team responsible for creating metal frameworks for cabinets housing electrical switchgears and power distribution systems. The role involves forming and pressing metal by loading raw sheets of metal into both manual and CNC Press Brake Machines.
Responsibilities
- Operate both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines to form and press metal.
- Read blueprints and verify dimensions using measuring tools.
- Physically load large sheets of metal into machines and adjust machine settings for different punches on 11 gauge sheet metal.
- Maintain a fast-paced production workflow by consistently loading and setting up metal sheets.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years experience in CNC operation.
- Proficiency in press brake operation.
- Experience working with sheet metal.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Skillful use of measuring tape, calipers, and micrometers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of G&M code.
- Experience in laser operation and CNC laser setups.
- Familiarity with fiber laser operation and sheet metal dimensions.

Work Environment
The role is based in a medium-sized, clean and organized shop, one of four facilities. The shop is non-climate controlled with open bay doors and numerous fans. It is a bustling production environment with approximately 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, QC staff, material handlers, and managers. Future plans include adding powder coaters. Night shifts run Monday to Friday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with frequent 50-60 hour workweeks. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
