Salary Range: $60,000 - $64,000 depending upon qualifications and experience,
Assigned Facilities: World Arena, Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, World Arena Ice Hall
Summary:
The Colorado Springs World Arena owns and independently operates The Broadmoor World Arena, the premier sports and entertainment venue in southern Colorado, and the adjacent World Arena Ice Hall. The Arena is a 7,500-seat multipurpose facility and the Ice Hall, with two sheets of ice, is a US Olympic and paralympic Committee-designed Olympic Training Site for the U.S. Figure Skating and hold of The Broadmoor Skating Club. CSWA also operates, under contract with El Paso County, the 2,000-seat Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, home of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra.
In coordination with and at the direction of the Senior Operations Manager, this position is
primarily responsible for managing and overseeing maintenance operations for the Broadmoor World Arena, Ice Hall, and Pikes Peak Center and assists with supervising and coordinating the set-up, changeover, operations, and housekeeping of buildings, equipment and grounds.
Job Functions:
Ø Assume management responsibility for maintenance operations and activities involved in the maintenance and operations of the assigned facility to include but not limited to HVAC, electrical/lighting systems, fire safety, mechanical, plumbing equipment, refrigeration equipment systems, elevators, cooling towers, boilers, water pumps and building control systems.
Ø Participate in work planning for facility maintenance and operations; identify and resolve problems; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work projects, methods and procedures
Ø Monitor expenditures for equipment, materials, and supplies; oversee supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines
Ø Ensure compliance with hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations. Ensure a safe work environment at all times
Ø Assists with management in set-up, changeover, housekeeping, and other operations department activities.
Ø Under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager and the Director of Operations, select, train, schedule, motivate and evaluate operations staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; oversee part time staff.
Ø Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work of part-time operations staff; assign work activities and annual projects.
Ø Oversees the productivity of the maintenance department and monitors work order progress, daily and follow up activity, and scheduling.
Ø Direct and monitor the work of contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects
Ø Assists with the set-up of events; coordinate facility arrangements with concessionaires; manage all ice and event specific equipment; order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.
Ø Attend pre-event meetings at previously scheduled times to go over event details, promotions, and specific event assignments.
Ø Ensure that the client’s needs are met in a professional and courteous manner.
Ø Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Ø Must have excellent customer service skills with a willing and pleasant attitude.
Ø Must have strong communication skills in the English language with attention to detail.
Ø Experience in the repair and maintenance of related building systems.
Ø Minimum of Associates’ Degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
Ø Must be able to take direction, prioritize assignments, and give tasks to employees.
Ø Must be able to work irregular hours; including evenings, weeknights, weekends and holidays.
Ø Proficient computer skills including knowledge of windows-based computers, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation applications and Internet navigation.
Ø Ability to work independently, but still as a part of the overall team atmosphere helping promoters, tenants, clients, co-workers and managers as required.
Ø Ability to work under pressure in a live event environment.
Ø Must have a valid Driver’s License

Intellectual/Social demands:
· While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.
Physical demands:
· While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the facilities and production sites to service clients and monitor work; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.
Work environment:
· The essential functions of this position are usually performed indoors. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.
