About This Role:

A Mental Health Professional works under the direction of the Mental Health Treatment Director and under the clinical supervision of the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical services-including providing diagnostic assessments and individual/group/family psychotherapy.

Requirements:

Must be qualified in at least one of the following:

  • Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the behavioral sciences, or related fields (e.g. psychology, social work etc.), and is on a track for an independent licensure in the State of Minnesota (LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC)

OR...

  • Enrolled in an accredited graduate level program in the behavioral sciences, or related fields and on a track for an independent licensure in the State of Minnesota (LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC) and
  • have a minimum of 1,500 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services to adults, adolescents and/or children with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disorders or traumatic brain injuries

Preferred Knowledge Areas:

  • Understand the causes and symptoms of mental health issues, a knowledge of coping skills, risk assessment, family dynamics and supports, crisis management, relapse prevention, conflict resolution skills, have analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and co-occurring mental illness and how they intersect.
  • Understand crisis management and the ability to deal with life threatening situations including the prevention of suicide.
  • Knowledge and experience creating treatment plans, writing progress notes, and creating client assessments.
