Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years MRI experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Newark, NJ is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join their team on a contract basis. This position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in MRI imaging within a well-established hospital setting, delivering high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Positioning patients accurately on the examination table and placing specified coils, such as head or knee coils, as per Radiologist protocols
- Demonstrating use of the communication microphone to facilitate interaction between patient and technologist during exams
- Entering essential data, including patient history, anatomical scan area, and equipment orientation into the MRI computer system
- Initiating scan sequences and adjusting transmitter and receiver settings using key commands on the computer
- Monitoring patient safety and comfort through the control room window and closed-circuit camera system
- Viewing and assessing image quality on display screens and photographing images via camera keyboard input
- Enforcing safety protocols by alerting staff about metal hazards in the magnet room
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support radiology department operations

- Certification or licensure as required for MRI technologists
