Warning Lites of MN and Sir Lines-A-Lot are operating companies of Road Safety Services, Inc., providing traffic control, pavement marking, and roadway safety services throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa. We are looking for a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Warning Lites office. This position will support the employees and operations of both Warning Lites of MN and Sir Lines-A-Lot while partnering with our corporate Human Resources team.
What You'll Do
- Recruit, interview, and coordinate the hiring process for field and office positions.
- Manage onboarding, including new hire paperwork, background checks, drug testing, DOT physicals, and orientation.
- Maintain personnel files and DOT driver qualification files to ensure compliance.
- Administer employee benefits and assist with annual open enrollment.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and employee relations.
- Assist with employee retention, engagement, and performance management initiatives.
- Support safety programs, workers' compensation, and return-to-work processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, DOT, and company employment regulations.
- Assist with employee training, recognition programs, and company events.
- Partner with operations leaders and the corporate HR team to support workforce needs and company initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in construction, transportation, manufacturing, or other multi-location industries preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT hiring requirements and driver qualification files is a plus.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
