Join Our Team as a Mammography Technologist and Make a Difference in Patient Care
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform routine and complex mammography examinations, including stereotactic imaging, mammotome procedures, and basic ultrasound procedures of the breast. Your expertise will help ensure accurate diagnoses and compassionate patient care, contributing significantly to early detection and treatment of breast conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct digital or analog mammography exams, ensuring high-quality imaging and proper patient positioning.
- Log patient information accurately in hospital information systems and send images to radiologists via PACS.
- Explain procedures to patients, providing humane and reassuring communication to alleviate anxiety.
- Identify abnormalities or normal variants, and determine the need for additional views or procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate mammography equipment, perform quality control tasks, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to interpret findings and ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper equipment maintenance and emergency procedures.
Required Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program (JRCERT accredited).
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Minimum of 200 mammograms performed within the past 24 months.
- At least 12 months of continuous experience in diagnostic mammography, including digital imaging.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass a government background check and obtain security clearance.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with stereotactic imaging, mammotome procedures, and ultrasound.
- Knowledge of equipment calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certification in mammography and radiologic technology.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting performing diagnostic mammograms, especially with digital systems.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday, with 8-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to maintain equipment and supplies, and participate in quality assurance activities.
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $41.00
- Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit
