What You will Do:
- The purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to create, develop and improve the manufacturing processes by studying product, manufacturing methods and feed-back data.
- Recommend, test and implement new capital equipment. Complete individual project plan schedule for implementation of new equipment or software that includes training and process specification completion. Complete hands-on implementation with production personnel.
- Provide hands-on shop floor support and training as required for the production personnel.
- Complete process mapping and resulting process specifications.
- Support continuous improvement teams and their activities.
- Confer with management regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Provides recommendations for production tooling designs: Hipot Test Fixtures, Environmental Stress Screening Fixtures, Computer Test Systems, and related Test Data Acquisition Software
- Assure product and process quality by developing/implementing test automation processes.
- Maintain product and process database by writing computer programs to record data.
- Read and interpret Engineering/Customer drawings, finished prints, specifications, and schematics for proper application to production processes.
- Create clear documentation, including work instructions, and provide training to technicians and operators for new or updated processes
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confer with suppliers to determine product specifications, arranges for equipment, materials and parts purchase, evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
What Will You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline highly preferred; combination of education and equivalent experience required.
- 5+ years of related electronics manufacturing engineering experience.
- Thorough understanding of electronics assembly and test automation processes.
- Computer skills – C, C++, Linux, NI TestStand
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, systems specifications, test procedures, bill of materials structures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical reasoning and problem solving.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
- Ability to easily learn new software applications (equipment programming and operation software, MRP system - Visual Manufacturing, etc.).
