About Us:
At The Learning Experience of Astoria, we believe that every child deserves a safe, stimulating, and loving environment. We are a licensed early childhood education center dedicated to fostering social, emotional, and intellectual development in children aged 6 weeks to 6 years! We are currently seeking a Center Assistant Director who will collaborate with the Center Director to lead our team with vision, integrity, and a genuine love for children.
Position Summary:
The Center Assistant Director works closely with the Center Director for the overall management of the daycare center, including staff supervision, curriculum oversight, enrollment, licensing compliance, and family engagement. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of child development and early education best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the center to ensure a safe, healthy, and educational environment
- Hire, train, and manage teaching and support staff
- Ensure compliance with state and local childcare licensing regulations
- Build strong relationships with families and the community
- Manage budgets, enrollment, and administrative duties
- Support curriculum implementation and staff development
- Handle conflict resolution and crisis management professionally and promptly
Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum of [3+] years of experience in early childhood education, with at least [1-2] years in Administration role
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
