Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including exams, fillings, crowns, extractions, surgery and root canals
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and materials are sterilized and ready
  • Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment notes
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and OSHA regulations
  • Provide chairside support and anticipate the dentist’s needs during procedures
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
  • Foster a positive and efficient workflow by being a reliable and adaptable team member


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program (preferred)
  • Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA or RDA) as required by state law
  • Valid X-ray certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a dental office (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to patient care and confidentiality
