We are a Union Landscape company and member of the 1058 Heavy Highway Laborers Union. If you are not a member of 1058 we can sign you into the union. If you have a CDL its a plus with higher pay but not a requirement. We are a 3 generation company and have been in business for over 65 years. We are a family company and you will always be working with a member of our family. We have worked for business such as The Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and River Hounds. Also many college and high schools in the Pittsburgh area. As well as sub contractors for P.J. Dick, Walnut Capitol, Turner, and many more. We work in new construction landscaping, restorative landscaping, and all types of sporting fields , courts, and events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work, possess relevant skills, and be committed to working as a team.
Duties
- Assist with landscape installation, of plants, soils, rock, and all other building materials.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment for construction and landscaping projects
- Perform hardscape installations including patios, walkways, and retaining walls
- Carry out general site cleanup and maintenance to uphold safety standards
- Support tree care activities including planting, pruning, and removal as needed
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and other horticultural tasks
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to ensure timely completion of work
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, lawn care, concrete, asphalt, or gardening is preferred
- A CDL is a plus but not needed to apply. If you have a CDL there is a higher pay rate for driver/laborer positions.
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and power tools is a plus
- Familiarity with land surveying or construction sites is advantageous
- Strong work ethic with physical stamina for outdoor labor in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape design concepts is beneficial
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while adhering to safety protocols
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for equipment operation or transportation needs
- Must be able to pass a Federal background check since we work at schools
