We're partnering with an exceptional school district in DuPage County, IL searching for a compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a fantastic academic team for the 2026-2027 school year.


In this role, you will support young learners by collaborating closely with teachers, providing individualized and small-group support, and implementing evidence-based learning strategies. You will help foster engagement, skill development, and an inclusive learning environment that supports students with diverse learning needs.


Position Details:

  • Location: Onsite in DuPage County, IL (no hybrid or remote options available)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, full school day
  • Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours weekly
  • Start Date: August 2026
  • End Date: May 2027
  • Grade Levels: Elementary or Middle School, K-8th Grade


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and grade-appropriate learning goals, adapt curriculum materials, and monitor academic and behavioral progress for elementary and middle school-aged students with diverse learning needs.
  • Support students in accessing elementary-specific content-area instruction by collaborating with classroom teachers and delivering differentiated, standards aligned strategies.
  • Use data-informed assessments, progress monitoring tools, and evidence-based instructional practices to promote skill development, engagement, and readiness for increasingly independent learning.
  • Provide individualized, small-group, and in-class support to strengthen academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills while promoting inclusion, positive participation, and successful access to general education settings.
  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that fosters independence, self-regulation, responsible decision-making, effective communication, and productive peer interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure consistent implementation of supports, accommodations, and communication across home and school.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement in the state of Illinois.
  • Prior experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in special education or inclusive classroom settings; experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students preferred.
