Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Bank Teller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience while efficiently processing various financial transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assist customers in person or over the phone to maintenance checking, savings, certificate of deposits, and IRA accounts, including but not limited to account changes, stop payments, address changes, check orders, wire form intake, and online banking assistance.
  • Process cash and check deposit transactions, loan payments, cashier’s checks, credit card advances, card and account transaction disputes, and cash disbursements.
  • Evaluate checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names, and overall acceptability of the documents.
  • Enters transactions in the bank’s recordkeeping system, recording all transactions and producing customer receipts. Maintains and balances all monies in cash drawers at the end of shifts.
  • Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiable instruments and confidential records.
  • Answer all accounts- and banking-related inquiries in person and over the phone.
  • Build and maintain customer relations by providing high-quality services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

Mathematical Ability: Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
